All residency programs that are affiliated with non-profit hospitals count towards your 10 years. If you are employed by a for-profit hospital, it would not count (unless programs at these hospitals have found a way around that...). Hospital Corporation of America, Tenet, and Health South (without a space. SDN is censoring it), are the 3 biggest for-proft hospital chains in the country. There are others as well, but these 3 cover the majority.

Right. You can check the hospital website - most of them list themselves as 501.c3, which means they are non-profit. Most peds hospitals that I've looked at are. If you are applying for PSLF, apply to consolidate as soon as you graduate - the actual process takes months to get approved.
