Pulm/Crit Chances?

Hi,

I applied this year for pulm/crit but wanted to see if anyone has any advice to improve my CV or get interviews. Here’s my creds:

IMG - J1 needed
USMLEs 220s
Chief year
10 articles with Posters in IDWeek, ATS, Chest national conferences
Good LORs

I’m worried that my step scores will filter me out for a majority of the programs.

You probably have a shot. If you have access to faculty who are well connected, they could contact programs on your behalf. Overall, not much you can do at this point aside from waiting.

I would suggest planning for the possibility of not matching. What are you going to do in that situation? It may be too late to secure a J1 waiver position by the time match results are out.
