I have the Math Destroyer from Orgoman and I am starting to panic on QR. I'm scoring really good on all sections....EXCEPT QR. I'm on Test #4 on Math Destroyer and I'm still completely lost. I can only get about 1 out of every 3 correct. I feel like I know most of the formulas, rules of triangles/exponets/etc, however, it takes me FOREVER to get through each problem. I suck with probability, inequalities, and velocities (when going 3mph for so long then it switches to 10 mph the other way against wind etc). This is starting to REALLY worry me. Anyone have any advise?

First off, I never really thought of (Math) Destroyer as a source to learn QR from, more something you practice with once you have a decent foundation. I'm not sure if you do based on your comment of knowing the formulas, etc, do you feel you do? Personally, I'm terrible at math, so I plan to do a thorough reading through KBB's QR section, assisted by other teaching sources. Then once I'm comfortable, I intend to try the QR section of Destroyer, then do math destroyer last.

In any case, you know the specific areas in QR that you're weak on. So go watch some videos at Khan academy on those topics, go look up those areas in an SAT book, find a tutor, etc, then come back and try Destroyer again.

Something else you might try if you think you already have a good foundation, or after you review the teaching materials on the topics you're weak on, is work through some DAT practice test QR sections unrelated to Destroyer, maybe Topscore or the pay ADA test, etc.

Good luck

To be honest, the Math destroyer helps you work through the same problems over and over, that way you familiarize yourself with certain things. For example, every test may have a particular type of probability question (with replacement, then without), then you may get a lot of trig functions (over and over). Comparing to the actual ADA test, it barely resembles it, but the fact that your working the harder questions OVER AND OVER, helps to prepare you. I took the QR on the ADA site and got 20/40. I'd like to up this to about 25-28/30.

Oh, yeah QR is kind of random. Since time is really an issue, you should probably use trial and error if you're stuck and cannot figure out the algebraic method. I had a couple (I had three statistics questions 😡) of questions that required me to really sit down and try an extensive method of doing some questions. I didn't study for this section and got a 20. I got 26 on TS though, so boo!

I got a probability question as well.
