Hi guys,
So I'm a (new) freshman in college rn, and we just started classes Monday. I'm taking 5 courses: Gen Chem I, Intro Bio, Intro Psych, Calc I, and a sophomore level Spanish class that I placed into due to my high AP score. This schedule is 17 credits, and I have already completed a core requirement requiring a language proficiency through my AP score. Recommended minimum per semester is 15 credits.
I am contemplating dropping the Spanish class, simply because I feel overwhelmed already by what to expect in my other classes that actually matter (for the BCPM GPA and otherwise.) The class seems difficult in the sense that the prof assigns a ton of HW to be due each class, as well as being a tough grader when it comes to essays, oral presentations, etc. I'm not sure whether I'd be able to keep up with this class and my other important ones.
So I guess what I'm trying to say here is...is a Spanish minor/taking spanish classes any useful for med school admissions? Would it be worth dropping this class just to salvage my GPA? I am also thinking of transferring from my current school to Brown so a 3.9 is basically required of me.
Thanks 🙂
