I am planning on taking the DAT next year and would like to know if I need to take a precalculus class to be prepared for this portion b/c I took college algebra and trig already and it is enough for me to over ride precal and go into Calculus 1. Math is not my strong point and so, what do you guys think? Would it be ok to skip it and go straight to calculus? Thanks

algebra and trig is really all you need for the DAT. i think you should talk to an advisor about jumping up to calculus, not us.

I'm not sure what your precalc covers, but I took it in high school and it covered a bunch of trigs and word prob. maybe you shouldn't jump to calc!!!
QRT is all about high school math. I know ppl who get the ACT book to studing for it.

I dont know the answer to that either. Pre calc I remember had a lot of graphing etc...and there are a few coordinate questions generally on the DAT...maybe 2. I think you would do fine either way if you know the sample test problems backwards and forwards.
My advisor was actually the person who told me about this over ride thing. She's a biology advisor and so she doesn't know much about the DAT therefore I asked here. Anyway, thanks for replying!
