question about background check

Hi!! I was wondering what exactly an educational background check is? Is it the same as the Certiphi one I had to complete through AMCAS? Or is it different? I am debating contacting the school about it but i thought I would try here first.

I'm guessing it's some sort of verification of your degree and transcript. Probably something similar to what you did through AMCAS but they independently verify it.
