Hello. I have a question regarding secondaries that specifically ask about an applicant's research interests/diversity, such as Harvard HST (for MD, not MD/PhD).

At my current job, I do research and publish papers for a company/government agency. My research interests lie in applying the non-medical research I do now to medicine. The research area is a bit niche, and it seems some schools that I am applying to do not have faculty working in this area. Would writing about how I hope to conduct collaborative research between my current company and my school of interest be a negative/neutral/positive statement? How about mentioning that my company may be able to fund part of this research or part of my MD degree? My concern is that schools may be worried about lack of commitment if I talk about maintaining ties with my company. Thank you.
