Hi everyone!

I received my Bachelor of Science from NYU this past May as a non-traditional pre-med and I'm currently pursuing my Masters Degree at Columbia University. I decided I wanted to be Pre-Med at the start of my junior year so I basically crammed all of the required science courses before I graduated. My grades weren't so great because I had a tough time balancing all of the science courses together (was also lost and confused about what career path I wanted to pursue at the time) and I was considering doing a DIY post bacc at my local state school in higher level science courses since half of my time during undergrad was spent taking CS and Sociology courses. What are your thoughts on taking courses such as Microbiology, Immunology, and Neurology somewhere local? Does anyone know how AMCAS calculates BCPM with courses taken after undergraduate? I'm currently retaking General Chemistry 2 at a local college because of my C- and intend to get an A this time. I also plan to take my MCAT in January and apply in June. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

These are the science courses I've taken so far and my grades:

You're fine for DO schools right now!
Thanks for the response. I'm only interested in MD schools. What can I do to improve my chances there?

Should I pursue a DIY post-bacc/has anyone on here done that before and know how it counts towards the science GPA?

As Goro said, you are fine for DO schools.

For MD, you’d need to complete 30+ credits in upper division sciences for your DIY post-bacc and do well on the MCAT. That will preclude you from applying this upcoming cycle.
