I have been curious as to how titles for commissioned dentists/medical doctors or other professionals works.
Is it appropriate to list your titles in the same signature? Or is this usually not done as the qualifications are in two separate fields?

For example, which of the following (if any) would be appropriate?

Cpt Smith, John D.M.D., M.S.
Dr. Cpt Smith, John

Seems adding your qualifications in your signature is more of a thing of the past but I am still curious as to how one would appropriately do this.

For the Army there actually is an entire regulation that covers correspondence, AR 20-50.

Generally, Some staff still like to use DMD, DDS, MD, JD etc. But unless the person uses a dual degree (MD, JD) where it may not be clear if they are utilizing one degree or the other, I have always left it off.

Military correspondence :
John Smith
CPT, MC

Civilian correspondence:
John Smith
Captain, Medical Corps
