Question about interview invites

I read the 2014-2015 thread about when interview invites started going out last year so I answered this question to a certain degree but hoping for more insight...

I'm wondering when invites start going out in general. I ask because I'll likely be traveling across the country during a month off during early and mid September (app hopefully submitted end of August) and would hate to be cruising through some remote part of the midwest with no service when invites start rolling in and I can't respond in time to nab a spot. Maybe I'm thinking this one out too much already but I can't help wonder if this is a bad idea. I hear spots disappear in a flash if you can't respond. Also, I'm assuming the invites arrive at anytime, day or night. Thoughts are appreciated and thanks in advance.

I believe I had some come in mid to late September...

I received one in early September, one in mid September and three in late September. Very few invites are sent out in early-mid September and I think my case was the exception rather than the rule.

Also, if you look through last years interview thread you can see exactly what day most programs sent out interview invitations.
