Question about Interviews

I was wondering how many interviews there are for optometry school, is it just one, and they base the decision off of that? My next question was what days can you generally schedule your interview on? Is it a weekday only thing or do some schools have interviews on weekends? Thank you.

Yes, it is just one interview. They do the interview and afterwards review how you did in the interview while reviewing your academic file.

Interviews are usually scheduled on Fridays. When I was scheduling interviews, the only other day available was Monday for one school. I don't know about all the schools, but I think Friday is pretty standard.

It depends on the school. Some review the same day, a few days afterwards, and even a few weeks afterwards. UH even tells you before you leave the day of the interview. In general, the turn around is pretty quick unless they are unsure if they want to accept or reject you. Best of luck.

They usually review your file and interview in the next 2 weeks after your interview and let you know right after they decide.

At the interview at ICO, they do a review of your file on the day of your interview. This is when they ask you questions about the courses you are currently taking and about your grades/OAT.

I only interviewed at ICO and Nova, both schools told me about their decision about my acceptance/scholarships within a week of my interview.

Interviews are usually on weekdays... all that I've been able to schedule. NECO is only on Friday. SUNY is MON,TUES,WED. PCO might be THURS,FRI as an example lol.

For them to give you an interview means they are interested in you. So the interview is where you reaffirm that interest or build upon it.

Yeah, interview days really depend on the school. I interviewed at SCO on a Friday, Nova on a Wednesday, and PCO on a Monday.

Yeah, interviews are generally only held on weekdays. The only exception to this that I know of is UC Berkeley, which has one day for all interviewees on a Saturday. Berkeley also takes a while to give you a decision. It took a little under three weeks to hear back. All the other schools I interviewed with responded within a week or less. As stated above by nicmc, University of Houston actually gives you your letter the day of your interview.

Yes there is only one interview. For most places I interviewed at, it was a choice between and Monday or Friday interview. Although I did interview on a Tuesday at one location, and a Saturday at another. It varies school to school. But I think they try to arrange it on M/F so people can also spend some time in the city and whatnot.
