Medical Question about masters programs end date, MD/DO program start dates.

Hi Everyone!

I had a question regarding masters programs and medical school programs start and end date.

I'm a med school applicant beginning a 1-year masters program, with an expected graduation date of first week of Aug. I know that many medical schools begin first year in late July. I was hoping to begin med school directly after the masters program (if I get in of course).

My question is, will I be unable to enroll in a medical school unless i graduate from the masters program first, even if I am able to attend classes? Im going to assume the answer is no because of some legal implication.

What kinda masters program is this? SMP?

Not really a SMP, but a infectious disease research focused masters I wanted to pursue for my (2nd) gap year. It's something I've always been interested in.

Though the program outline did say that many used the masters to improve their application to professional schools.

If you’re accepted to Med school they can tell you whether your acceptance is contingent on finishing this program or if you could just drop out. But realistically it won’t help your case until you complete it, so next year anyways.
