question about physician shadowing

I know there have been many threads like this but I wasn't successful at finding one so please forgive me if this one seems ridiculously redundant.

I want to shadow a physician. How can I do that? I know I should contact a physician and ask about it but I don't know where to begin.

AND

To narrow down the scope of my inquiry...
Has anyone done physician shadowing at SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital? If so could you tell me where to begin?

Do a search for "shadowing" and you'll come up with a bunch of threads that pertains to finding a physician to shadow.
