Hi guys,

I have a question for people who got Piano passage on their RC..

I know it's a hard passage but do you think reading anything about "how a piano works" should be helpful?

Many people including me are not familiar with the musical terms so I just want to find out how to prepare for that HARD passage.

I'll appreciate for any comments.

Thanks.

I just took the DAT and had the piano passage. I did not do so well on RC. Honestly, I would not waste my time on researching how a piano works and I would rather study other material. You never know you may not even get the passage and so it would be useless. I did research how a piano works a day before my exam, but it didnt do much good. Just develop an effective strategy that works for you on RC.

th e only plus in this for me is that i was a music major 😀 but thats if i get that passage.

I was frapped and pianoed..and I got a 23 on reading the first time and a 20 on the second. So clearly, the piano is slightly harder passage. But I used the search and destroy method both times.

If I were you, I would take a speed reading class, because I did that when I was in highschool and being a really fast reader helps alot-now I got lucky and there was one offered at my highschool.

Another good strategy is to trick yourself into getting excited at what you are about to read. You have to be active and not get bored.

I know it sounds silly, but it works.

Dont try reading up on pianos. You might not even get that passage.
