Question about ranks
Started by untouchable
I didn't know where to post this.
Anyways, I was wondering what the rankings of residencies are.
Which are top fields, and which are the lowest fields?
Just wanted to know.
Here look at this link and it is A GREAT ACCESS 👍

Hopefully I helped you tremendously

If I understand your question correctly, you are asking "which residency spots are the most competitive?"
If so, here's an exhaustive list of any data related to residencies:

Now, if you are trying to use this information to influence what specialty to shoot for I think you need to reconsider your motivations before you end up miserable for 40 years.

yeah, I know Im thinking way ahead of myself, but If I can't be a surgeon, then Im just going to graduate from med school with my degree, and not practice.
Its either or for me, Im not going to settle with something I was never interested in doing in the first place because then i won't do a good job at it.
Maybe I will just fall on my back up of becoming a world class chess player!!
😛

A majority of med students coming into med schools don't know what they want to do. Out of the remaining few that came in knowing exactly what they wanted to do eventually changed their minds. Only between 5-10% or even less kids that enter med school know what they want and eventually get what they want. Wait until you're actually in the wards before you make decisions on what specialties you will or won't do. Even more so, maybe you should wait until you get in before making ridiculous claims like this.

not sure if srs. you should try saying this at a med school interview though, and see how far it gets you.
There's plenty of unfilled surgery spots every year.

An MD without a license to practice means absolutely nothing except Major Debt. Good luck paying all that money back

it's true. this person could just end up as the ultimate surgery intern!

Yep, cause you know how much those prelim surg interns love their call schedules.
