hey guys i'm posting for a friend... basically he wants to know how good it looks on his d school application that he has about 32 usc undergrad units doing non lab research with a dental school professor.. and will probably get a rec letter from her as well..? will this make up for a not soo great but not bad gpa and a somewhat rough undergrad record?

Depends on the school. Some like research, while some could care less. It's unlikely to make up for a bad GPA however.

I would say to work on the GPA. Many schools look at your other activities, community service, research, etc, but in the end, if you don't have good grades and DAT scores, they want to know why.

Good luck to your friend.
