Question about starting MPH program

I have a general question for people familiar with MPH programs. I am currently applying to dental school with the plan to start an MPH program if I don't get accepted this cycle and then reapply with my MPH. I noticed most MPH programs near me do not take applications for Spring semester and only once a year for Fall. I obviously missed any deadline for Fall 2014, so what would my options be? Can I take classes as a non-degree? will these classes be transferrable to a program? do any schools take applications for the Spring? Is this stupid to do? thanks.

I think USC had a june 1st deadline. There are probably a few others out there, you'll just have to look.

I am in NYC and don't really want to go out of state.
