So I am i bit confused about the AMCAS process, if someone could please enlighten me.
My primary app was processed on the 13th, and it has already been transmitted to many of the schools. I just called BU today and they said that I will not get a secondary UNTIL they get an actual hardcopy from AMCAS, which could take a couple of weeks! How the hell does this work? I am also having trouble with UChicago and they said that they are waiting on my applicaiton to be verified? IT WAS VERIFIED ON THE 13th!!!!!! OMFG this is annoying...please someone enlighten me about this process....

Hello.....anyone?

Each school has its own individual procedures for processing and screening AMCAS applications. It does take a long time since there are so many applicants to each school. Maybe some schools wait for AMCAS verification to be completed and then need the hardcopy of the AMCAS application for their own verification/screening process. That is just my guess. Also, some schools send secondaries to all of its applicants while others may further screen AMCAS applications before they invite applicants to proceed further in the admissions process. You would have to contact each school in question and ask them directly as to the admissions process at their school. Patience is the key and remember that it is still early in the application cycle. Stay focused and hope for the best. Good luck.

Lol voltron, thanks for the info.
