Hey guys,

After coming to terms that I'm probably not going to dental school next year, I am back. I still want to go to dental school...I'm applying for some 1-2 yrs. masters and postbacc programs. The one I really want to go to is Buffalo...does anybody have any advice on the topic? Programs and then reapplying? If anybody has experience with this or knows more about it, let me know. Thanks

Welcome back simseema17. I had wondered what had become of you. I thought maybe you had taken my advice and were in US Navy Boot Camp.

I'm glad you like UB too. I went there for interview last month and absolutely loved the school. They have a good curriculum and the faculty/students there are extremely friendly and informative. Plus, they emphasize clinical experience since freshmen year, which is what I'm looking for.

Since I applied late this year, i was put on wait list for all the schools (UB, UMich-ann arbor, Creighton) . So far, i've visited UB and U of M.. and will go to NYU next week fro another interview. I think UB has teh best study environment (not too much distraction & lots of snow :-D ) . I strongly encourage you to visit the school or at least talk to a few people from the school to see if you like it. Good Luck.

When you went on your interview to BU, did you know that you were interviewing for a spot on the waiting list or was there still a shot to get in the fall class? Just wondering b/c I have an interview next week at UIC and was wondering if they would even tell me I was only interviewing for waiting list. Thanks

First of all, i interviewed at University of Buffalo, not Boston University.
I don't think I was interviewing for wait-list because when i called about my status, they told me their still haven't filled their class yet. I was put on the wait-list because my GPA wasn't good.
I think if you ask them during interview, they'll tell you if you are interviewing for alternate spot. Good Luck.
