So im posting this on dental forum, cause everyone on the pre-dent forum is too busy talking about getting accepted/.. so why not ask the ppl who are already there::

Ok,
so heres the question concerning grades/apps/and how dent school view those grades>>>>

1. how do dent schools look at sci gpa? when ppl talk about sci gpa- does this include math classes (calculus, finite math, Phil logic, coll. algebra, Stat)

2. Are there two different sci gpas? Is there one with just the core classes required by dent schools (bio.chem.physics. 1,2. ochem1,2)?
and then a separate sci gpa for ALL overall sci. classes?
Because I have classes like from bio program that are bio electives as Genetics, Gene. Bioethics, Micr:Biology of Viruses, BIOL:Biological Imaging, BIOL:molecules and life, BIO: molec. and cell, as well as biochem1,2,
---You get the point. Do THESE ALL get put into ur science gpa (when Dent. schools view ur app) along with the core sciences? Or do they view the "cumulative sci gpa" different from the core sci gpa?

Thanks all.

I'm not sure if this will help you or not. So here is what your AADSAS GPA table will look like:

Undergraduate

Category---Subject--------Hours----Quality-----GPA----Quality----GPA w/o
--------------------------------------points----------w/o points

------------Biology---------23.00----92.00-----4.00----92.00------4.00
------------Chemistry------26.00----96.00-----3.69----96.00------3.69
------------Physics---------4.00----16.00------4.00----16.00-----4.00
------------BCP------------53.00----204.00----3.85----204.00----3.85
------------Sciences-------82.00----318.67----3.89---320.00-----3.90
------------Non-Sciences---42.00----67.00-----3.98--168.00-----4.00
------------Cumulative----124.00--485.67---3.92---88.00-----3.94

Does this help at all? What you see is essentially what the dental schools see. It also breaks it down to each semester and colleges.
