does anyone still go to and use the website "scutwork.com" to find out info about programs? because i noticed that not many programs are represented there and there are very FEW reviews about each one that is represented.
Also, there is not much about each place on this website (understandably, you guys are busy)...is most of the feedback "word of mouth"?
Just trying to find out- i am passionately interested in surgical education, trying to get a feel for how residency info gathering/interview/ranking takes place since it has been a while since I did it.

No one (that I know) uses scutwork, as much of the info is years old and often posted by disgruntled employees or seemingly the program director. Most information is by word of mouth from people that you meet on the trail.

i tried to use it, however, many of the updates are out of date and may or may not be accurate, especially if its only 1 review. i found it more reliable to look for threads on SDN about the institution(s) you are interested in, usually medstudents and residents are more than happy to give you feedback.

there are threads that give good feedback such as "chicago programs", "florida programs", "texas programs" "top residnecy programs". all of them were very helpful and if you look hard enough, students can identify residents from those individual programs and PM them to get even more detail.

if that institution isn't that popular, students can start a thread asking questions and usually t he response is helpful.

i see scutwork is kind of outdated and not too useful...so threads on SDN or word of mouth is better for finding out info. SDN is great- I'm a resident now and had nothing like this (as far as i know, anyway) when i applied!
not many people seem to have the time to fill out the interview trail feedback stuff...is there anywhere to post feedback on fellowship interviews? anywhere for residents to post feedback on their own programs or others they applied to?

Check out a site called ResidencyReviews.Info. Looks like it's kinda new, but has a lot of interesting tools to help you figure out where to apply. You enter a "profile" of your grades and stuff, and then you get to see how your profile compares to the applicants at different programs. You can enter your impressions of programs after you interview and then use that info to come up with a score that helps you make your rank list. Seems pretty helpful.
