Does anybody know any test sites close to campus for the August MCAT? Where do people usually take the MCATS in North Chicago? Any info would be extremely helpful.
I don't go to RFU, but if you list the site options I could tell you which is best. Northwestern in evanston usually offers the test, and I hear the testing room is good. You probably would need to stay the night in evanston, b/c the drive from north chicago is at least 35-40min w/out traffic. I wouldn't choose anything in the city at UIC or loyola-chicago, b/c the august mcat usually falls on the weekend of the Chicago Air & Water show. Apparently, previous test takers could hear the planes flying over during their exam.
City Colleges of Chicago (doesn't mention a specific college)

Okay, IIT, UIC are in south loop of Chicago. I would not take the test there unless you want to hear the planes. I'm not sure where City Colleges of Chicago is, but seeing that it is somewhere in the city I would advise not going there due to the Air & Water Show . U of C might be far enough south that you wouldn't hear the planes, but it is a crappy drive (2 hrs) from North Chicago especially with the Dan Ryan construction (I-90/94). UIUC is way too far from North Chicago as it is in Champaign (4 hrs. drive at least). Don't take the test there. NIU-DeKalb is too far west for you, and you wouldn't be able to take a direct route. Loyola would be on the northside of Chicago. You could take your chances there assuming the planes fly in from the south, but it is fairly close to the Air & water show.
I still think the best place is Northwestern in evanston. It would be about an hour drive from North Chicago. You could come in the day before btwn 11am-3pm to avoid traffic, get a hotel near the campus and just relax. I remember there is a hotel pretty close to the campus, so you could just walk to the test. Hope that helps, good luck!
