Hello. I was wondering how retaking classes works in terms of cum. GPA. I am graduating from my uni this quarter and I am set on finishing my prerequisites (A&P) at a community college. Can I only boost my cum. GPA by taking additional classes at my undergrad. uni? Thank you for your time.

Cumulative GPA means everything you have ever taken, anywhere. So, yes, even classes at community college will cause your cumulative GPA to change. Though depending on how many credits you have completed, the impact could be negligible.

Any classes taken EVER from any college go into the cum. This is sometimes good and sometimes bad.....

Thank you for your replies, tweaze and starrsgirl. From what I believe, PT schools offer grade replacement, so retaking the classes that I got C's in will cause a significant change in my cumulative and pre req GPA, right?

Some will do grade replacement, and others will average. PTCAS will average everything. From what I have heard, some programs will only allow a set number of replacents. You'll have to research the schools you want to apply to and see what their policies are. Oh, and some programs only look at the last 60 credit hours, which could be good for you as well.

Know your schools well! None of my schools did grade replacement. I don't know the stats but in my experience it seems like most schools don't.
