Question on LOEs that are submitted electronically

If a LOE is submitted electronically, how is the professor going to sign the letter? I'm really curious. Perhaps, the professor just type in his or her name???

When the writer submits the letter online it is considered their digital signature - so they don't need to physically sign the letter.
