Question on when to take DAT for round 2005

When is the best time to take the DAT if applying for year 2005? Is August too late?
Can I send my application in June and take the DAT in August?

There are like three open threads pertaining to this same question on the first page alone...scroll down a little!

Quick answer: ASAP...unless you are an unusually strong applicant it's rather risky to wait past september...and you definately want everything sent by december no matter what.
