Hi guys,

I have a question in regards to my DO application. I'm currently applying for the 2014 cycle with a 3.72 cGPA and a 28 MCAT (scores have been 9P/9V/10B/S, 9P/7V/12BS). I'm planning on re-writing the MCAT again in July, however I wanted to know if I should apply to DO schools with my current scores so that my application can be reviewed quicker or if I should tell them I will be re-writing (which would put a hold on my application from my understanding until those scores are received).

Based on my current standing, what would you advise?

Thanks for your help!

With your GPA, I'd personally be happy with a 28 MCAT and not bother retaking it.

You've taken in twice and gotten a 28. With a third attempt, you run the risk of either doing the same, or even worse. If you're shooting for DO, you have a good chance at being able to pick your school. I wouldn't bother retaking it.

Yeah, getting a 28 twice in a row makes it seem like you have plataeued. Unless you are doing something drastically different, don't bother.

Your stats are already fine. I'm jealous of your GPA. 😛

Quit fussing and start applying. It's magic thinking that this time things will be different and you'll go over the 30 line and somehow suddenly be MD school caliber.

If anything, taking it one more time will just make DO AdComs wonder if you're really set on MD and are settling for DO.
