Has anyone applied and been accepted to NYU with old pre requisites? The website says they expire after 10 years, but I’m not sure how hard of a rule that is. I’m deciding whether I should retake most of my pre requisites or not. Thank you in advance for any advice!

The bigger question is are you willing to borrow $800,000 to attend NYU?

Especially later in life as a non-trad applicant. OP - as a fellow human trying to save you potential heartache in the future... Please consider the debt implications of joining this profession. Only do it if you really like the job and would be happy being poor and potentially retiring late.

I understand what you’re saying, but what is your suggestion? Try for another school or something else in healthcare altogether?

I understand what you’re saying
You may understand what they’re saying, but you don’t understand what they’re saying. By the time you understand what they’re saying and how foolish it was to go $800,000+ into debt to become a dentist, it will be too late. Your fate will have been sealed. You go down that road, there’s no turning back…

While it’s not criminal what some of these schools are charging, it is without any shadow of a doubt unethical and predatory.

Hi OP! Focusing on the original question, have you asked NYU's admissions team? Exactly how old? What have you done since graduating? How much do you remember? How recent was your DAT?
Hey! I contacted them and they pretty much confirmed that they can’t be more than 10 years old. Since graduating, I have been working full time and started retaking pre-requisites again. I would say I remember a decent amount, but need some refreshing I actually have not taken the DAT yet because of this issue, I didn't want it to expire before I can finish the pre-requisites.

I know it is a crazy amount of money and I do not like debt. If I went to NYU, I would have very low housing costs as I live in NYC, also I would have some parental help with tuition. I’m not sure if this would make it more reasonable?
