I go to a university where they require you to take a theme along with your major. If you ask me it is a complete waste of my time. My theme is earth science and I am in the premed program. There is no way med schools are going to look at grades I got in plants 101. They only look at the required courses, correct? I was just wondering if anyone else had to take theme classes where they attend. I was thinking about just dropping the class (which is bringing down my gpa by the way) and just focus on premed courses. Any suggestions?

well, they do see all the grades, but by common sense logic, I'd assume they look at the pre-req grades more heavily than the other classes..theyre pre-reqs for a reason

Def focus on your 8 pre-med courses..those are the 8 most important classes when it comes to med school

1. medical schools will absolutely see and care about all of your grades, although there is no question that the pre-reqs are most important.
2. i don't understand what you mean by this "theme"business at all. maybe you should consider changing your "theme" to one that will either jive better with the pre-med stuff, or that will not bring your GPA down.
