I'm a little confused if I can include one of my activities on my upcoming application so I thought I'd ask on here for some advice on what to do. In my school I'm in charge with one other student of making study guides and organizing review sessions before major exams for our class. There's no official position involved in this, just something we started doing over time and it expanded, more and more people became interested and we eventually moved from small library rooms to using lecture halls for 50+ people after school. I feel like it would be something cool to talk about at interviews and I feel like it's worth mentioning but since there's no official club or organization involved and no contacts I don't know how it'll look. Maybe adcoms will see it as invalid and it may ultimately hurt me in the end, not sure. What do you guys think? Any help is appreciated!

List it as leadership or Tutoring and put your own contact# or your friend's if you don't want to. If faculty were aware of what you were doing, talk to them about you wanting to list it on your application and ask if you can use their contact information if you're worried about some kind of validation. But definitely include it.

Put it down. Unless it's extremely suspect (ridiculous hours, etc), adcoms will NOT check the contacts on your AMCAS to see if it's legit. Ain't nobody got time to do that for every applicant.

As prado said, you can put yourself down as a contact and unless you have a faculty member who can vouch for you, it's fine to put yourself down.

Thanks guys! I'll just list myself
