I expect this thread to be closed soon (could be seen as seeking medical advice?), but I'll go ahead, anyway.

DNR and Palliative Care consult.

Sorry to hear about your grandfather, dude. Your question/dilemma is exactly the type of thing you should be discussing with his doctors in the hospital. With your medical background, you're in a unique position to help facilitate communication between the ICU team and the family members. I'm sure it will be difficult at times, but hopefully everyone will get on the same page quickly...best of luck.

Thanks guys... Problem was I am not happy with the docs, but I realized you;re right probalby not something to publicly discuss. I'll try to get a hold of a Palliative doc.
