I have been reading a lot of posts on here lately saying how OMM is ineffective/effective or needs more testing. I am going to an osteo school and of course if I am going to treat people with something want to know that it works. Of course I know I will better be able to answer this question next year, but i wanted to hear the opinoins of some current students/doctors. What am wondering is how omm works in different applications. There are many techniques and i would like to get some opinions about them individually. ARe there specifice OMM techniques that work really well for most people, and some that are controversial? Or are most of them controvertial?

When you start practicing the techniques and getting a good feel for them you will quickly find out what is useful ad what isn't. Personally I have found a lot of useful techniques that I use routinely. You can read about how I have used OMT as a medical student on my blog under that category:

Enjoy!

check out this link....it is from the thread at the top of the main page "what every MS-I should know about OMM"

I really think the best thing that you can do before you start in the fall would be to find a local doc who does a lot of OMM (probably Family Med,OMM specialist, or Sports Med/FP). You can call your school for help locating one if you can't find one yourself.

Thanx for the feedback!!!

Maybe when I get to my OMT lab I can find someone that will stop my back from hurting all the time 😀
