Now that we are about 3 months through training, I'm curious to hear what you think about your program and experiences so far. I've had my share of ups and downs. Some days are good, where everything seems to go well (IVs, tubes, etc.) and the teaching is good, whereas others seem to be terrible and not even worth having come in that day. It seems like a lot of days are case- and attending-dependent. Have you felt like your attendings teach you a lot? My experience so far is that the majority do not spend much time in the OR with me at all. I feel frustrated that I'm left to learn a lot of this stuff on my own. I'm not sure if this is a reflection of my program (even though it's a "top-ranked" one), or if this is just part of the unique apprentice-like nature of anesthesiology residency. After all, isn't this the only specialty where everyday you work with a different attending?

Just some thoughts. Anyone else?
