Hi guys, I had some questions I was hoping you could help me with. First off, let me say I'm asking this for my brother so that I can relay some information. I guess you can call him an international student, he did his medical degree in India about 6 years ago. Since then he has been struggling to get done with his USMLE's. Bad luck has surfaced for him quite a few times, and lets just say he's nearly given up hope. He's interested in the MPH programs so I was wondering if there was anyone in a similar situation that can help me figure out where he should be applying. As far as experience goes, he has medical experience by doing his degree/interning in India. As far as letters of recommendation go, that is tougher with his professors being in India. Also, has anyone from another country had trouble presenting transcripts? In India the system is different, so usually they aren't sending transcripts from uni to uni but rather present you with a certificate and 1 official transcript. What would you suggest to get started, and what programs would be interested in someone like him? Last year the reps at San Jose State claimed that the program is very competitive and only a select few get in. Are there bigger programs that look at international students as well? Thanks.
