You get a fair amount of short breaks and some fairly long ones too. Off the top of my head, they are roughly as follows during 1st and 2nd year:
Fall semester (starts late Aug)
4 day weekend for Thanksgiving
3 week holiday break (usually second half of Dec and 1st week of Jan)
Spring semester (starts early Jan)
3 day weekend for MLK day
1 week spring break in early to mid March (we are on that this week)
Easter... I know the undergrads get a 4 day weekend, but I forgot if pods get any time off?
2 weeks off after spring finals before summer classes start (usually first 2 weeks of May)
Summer semester (begins mid-to-late May)
July 4th off (assuming it's a school day of course)
3 weeks off at the end of summer before fall classes start
You also might get a couple random days off in the fall semester for hurricane or tropical storm warnings (kinda akin to snow days at other schools). 😀
For the exact Barry dates, see the School of Graduate Medical Sciences academic calendar. Make sure you get the GMS calendar and not just the general university academic calendar... the undergrads get many additional days off that pod and PA students do not. The university could probably send it to you if you request it, or you may be able to search for it and locate it on their website. I'm not sure if the 07-08 one is available yet, though...
