what is the sinus thats located below the sella turcica?

everything wud cause bleeding except?
increased systolic bld pressure
hypokalemia
cigarette smoking
decreased thrombaxane

if the pt is given the 115mg per ml of inulin, when the plasma concn of inulin is 0.1 mg/ml, whats the gfr?

0.1mg/ml

anybody pls state the ans with the explanation. thank you

In posterior cross bite, which cusps would contact in mediotrusive movement?
No choices.

In respect to its effect upon movement of water btwn vascular and extravascular space, plasma colloid osmotic pressure acts in the same direction as
tissue pressure
venous pressure
capillary pressure
arteriolar pressure
tissue colloid osmotic pressure

From the facial view, where wud the CEJ be most apically positioned on the crown of primary mandibular first molar
mesial one third
middle one third
distal one third
Please solve the above questions. Explanations are most welcome. Thank you.

for 1st question-the outer inclines of mand lingual cusps will contact the inner inclines of max lingual cusps.
plz feel free to correct if wrong.

thanks pbkal. I thought the answer for the third wud be the distal third , just as the contact areas. You think wheelers wud be good to look for the answer?

is dense in dente ans for this??

Dens in dente is the most commonly causes of pulp inflamation when present in lateral incisors (max) (caries then pulp inflamation)
COncrescent teeth are joined together by the cementum - therefore mistaken for subgingival calculus. That's for sure!

carcinoma of larynx would effect?
deep cervical nodes,submandibular,thoracis lymph nodes?
is deep cervical nodes ans for this??

yes, it is the deep cervical nodes. That's for sure! 🙂

antiviral drugs:
1. against nucleinic acids - as precursers ddC, ddI, 3TC or others
2. agaubst protease (protease inhibitors)
3. inh DNA like Acyclovir for example
4. in general substances against viral infections..

2.cns infection with insect vector is cauded by
ricketssiae or chlymydiae
Rickettsia species are carried as parasites by many ticks, fleas, and lice, that is it is carried by arthropods, leeches and protists.
Chlamydiae - touch, birds, inhalation

By this point - I will like to see more possible answers before choosing a define answer...

3.sensory nucleus for v, vi, ix ,vii ,x nerve is
spinal nucleus of v is only for pain and tempreture
sensory nucleus of v is for tactile, pressure sensation that is discriminitive touch
mesencephalic nucleus of v

4.vasculitis in children buergers/ kawasakis/ giant cell vasculitis .. is that kawasaki is the one in kids??

5. Which isn't a ischemic heart disease ?
hypertensive heart ds -- is this the ans??

hope it helps

just for clarification, does HMG coa reductase produce cholesterol and HmG coa lyase produce ketone bodies? I think my book has it flipped.....

Thanks in advance.🙂

HMG-CoA reductase is in fact HMG-CoA-lyase (lyases as class of enzymes are known to break chemical bonds)

HMG-CoA synthetase is the only enzyme which produces HMG-coA from the Acetoacetyl-coA (It is actually a acetyl-transferase)

Hope that makes it clear.

Ant. Cerebral is a branch of the ICA. along with the middle Cerebral art.

the circle of willis is made of:

Pls correct me if I'm wrong, and help me to know the anterior cerebral artery is branch of what?

E and D are not broad spectrum.
A is one of the answers.
B and C, I have no idea.
but by exclusion, it would be A and B.
I am not sure.

b.Olloromycetin@
c.Dihydrostreptomycin
d.Penicillin
e.Isoniazid

from my understanding, the above mentioned condition is the Cretinism or hypothyroidism in the children. By Kaplan, the cretinism wud have the increased TSH secretion for the early detection (pg no 191 endo path), so answer wud not be the choice c. I think choice B is right. Correct me for the mistakes.

U r right, but I don't think there is a correct answer among those answers.
if the "mutation" thing wasn't mentioned then the right answer would be (less iodine), but the mutation made it Cretinisim, and it had High TSH and low T3 and T4. the BMR would be decreased too.

..

I thought APC were like macrophages and certain phagocytes that have MHC II molecules to present viral particles to T helper cells.

A virus is phagocytized by an APC --> viral proteins and cleaved and transported to cell surface of APC --> viral peptide presented on surface by MHC --> T cell receptors can now recognize MHC viral bound paticles.

I'm guessing the answer is 1 (viral replication). Pure guess though.
