Mostly things like renal papillary necrosis, interstitial nephritis, etc (ie, not the nephrotic/nephritic syndromes or cancers)

I feel like I don't have a good grasp of how to distinguish them in questions like "Pt takes X history, has Y symptoms, where is the damage"

Have you tried looking through the 49 page Goljan high yield thing? Its very succinct and nice. Covers almost everything for pathology.

renal papillary necrosis-- gross hematuria associated with chronic pyelonephritis, diabetes, sickle cell disease, and nsaid use
