After much practice...I have found that I can regularly get pretty good scores on verbal passages, but my reasons for eliminating incorrect choices often do not reflect that of the author's.

For example, I eliminated A, B, C, b/c of reason X. Although the answer is correct, the author gives completely different explanations for why A, B, and C are incorrect.

I guess what I am trying to say is...I know just enough to answer the questions, but nothing more. Is this a good strategy or no?

As long as you have a good rationale for your choices and aren't accidentally choosing correctly because you misinterpreted the question, that's what counts.
