When people talk about their science GPA, are they referring to just the pre-req classes or ALL science courses taken?

I'm a chemistry/bioinformatics major and it would be welcome news to hear that any upper level bio/chem courses will count towards my science GPA.

Also, does anyone know if upper level math (Calc II and III) and computer science courses are counted in science GPA?

Thanks oodles. I love this site by the way.

Depends who exactly is talking 🙂

In my mind, when I hear science GPA, I usually think of BCPM (Bio, Chem, Physics, Math) GPA. So the comp. sci. doesn't count, but upper level calculus would.

Yup, those are the AMCAS rules.

To echo what's already been said above...

All courses (intro or upper-division) that you self-report as Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Math count.

AMCAS verifies by checking your transcript against what you self-reported. If anything's shady, they'll change it.
