quick question,

how many people get into DO school each year? I know for md's it's about 16,000 a year...anyone know the equivalent for DO?

To answer your question:
Since there are only 19 DO schools, and probably about 100-150 per class, then roughly 2000 people I would say; but I could be wrong as well.

It's close to that. I was reading an article about DO schools last year and I think they threw a number like 1850 give or take, but I'm going on memory. 2000 is a good round number to use because I could be wrong.

The number is actually closer to 3,000.
The AACOM annual report (Feb '02, pg. 20 http://www.aacom.org/home-students/index.html) lists the 1st year enrollment for 2000-01 at 2,927 - and with most schools increasing the enrollments/yr I'd bet it's 3k or greater.
