Are there any schools that DON'T accept students outside of that state. I know there are schools that are partial to students in the same state.

You only need to show proof of residency if you want to qualify for in-state tuition. Most schools require that you live in state for a year before qualifying for in state tuition. As far as I know, all schools accept out of state students. Although I'm sure some take preference to in state students, that does not mean that you cannot apply there and still have a fighting chance of acceptance.

On this website I am not sure what #1 means...show proof of residency. Does that mean these states only accept in state?? Or just that these schools require students that live in-state to show proof of residency?

Pardon my shouting, but you need to hear this: LOOK IT UP AT THE SCHOOLS!!!!!!!!

In-state residency is required to get in-state tuition. Hello? If you're not a state resident, you won't qualify for in-state rates. That means, now read closely, you.... pay.... out-of-state.... tuition.

If you want the lower in-state rates, you must show proof of residency.

New to this college thing, are ya?

I know I would pay out of state tuition but the way it was worded on pharmcas it almost sounded like they didn't even take out of state students. And NO I am not new to "this college thing" I've been to 2 Universities and 1 community col. I'm just clarifying something no need for you to jump down my throat!

You know..... you are the very first applicant I've seen on here who was confused about that statement on pharmcas. You'd think with the hundreds, maybe thousands, of applicants who use both pharmcas and this forum, a statement that was so "confusing" would have been noticed by others.

But no.

/me making popcorn

Ditto on this one.

But in all seriousness, there is no school that is permitted to be exclusive in taking only in-state students unless the school receives all of its funding from the state (meaning no tuition paid by the student). I think there's one high school in Hawaii that does that, and as a result, their contract states that they can't take non-native Hawaiians. But that's besides the point. So yes you may apply to any school you like, just be prepared to pay a hefty amount more. *looks at his tuition cost and cries*

I just asked this question a few days ago...so now i know the answer! haha

Someone posted this table:

So you can see which schools out-of-state kids have a good chance and which ones you're better off not applying to. The odds arent so good at any of them...so I'm planning on sticking to in-state and private!
