I was accepted to the school of my choice, yay! During the interview I was asked what I would be doing until matriculation. I told them that I would continue volunteering, but in truth I hated the hospital experience since day one. Is it okay to quit now, or will they verify it somewhere down the line? I also have no desire to do anymore volunteering, as I'd like to spend the rest of my free time as I wish. Volunteering just isn't my cup of tea. Does anyone have experience with this? I don't want any trouble up ahead. Any help would be appreciated!

I would go ahead and quit. I don't think that any interviewees would actually tell the interviewers that they are planning to quit. I'm sure that ADCOMs understand the fact that once accepted, these people will start dropping their volunteer work left and right.

you are a liar and will make a terrible doctor.

nah just kidding. go ahead and drop; nobody is going to care.

I'd imagine this would be the norm.
