Thank you for all the help so far. This bulletin board is great. I just have another
question. It is pretty general. How do you usually pay for medical school? Do you pay
for it as you go along? Or, do you pay for it, by loans of course, after you are all
finished? What if you are married when you go to medical school. Do the payments
increase or change. I am confused and worried on how I am going to pay for it. Also,
what are your feelings on getting married before you go to med school? Thank you in
advance for the answers to these questions. You are a big help to me and many
others.

Most all students get medical school loans, averaging 60 to 70 thousand.
It is not hard to get the loans and medical school financial aid offices are great. As
long as you don't have any horrible credit record (like defaulting on your undergrad
loans) you should be fine.

You get the loans and then start paying them back after your first couple years of
residency.

Marriage should not make a difference, though if you have a second income you may
be able to avoid some debt by taking out less loans.
