Hello, I was just wondering:

1) How often can Radiologists work from home? (only certain hospitals/ private organizations? or need seniority?)

2) Can you travel overseas and work from a foreign country?

3) About how many hours per week does a Radiologist work?

Thank you! All advice and opinions are welcome! :)

If you work for a telerad company, you can work from your home every day. In some PP groups, you can opt to work from home certain days of the week and certain rotations. Other days you have to be present to be the 'consult guy' or the person doing the small procedural stuff.

2) Can you travel overseas and work from a foreign country?

Within certain limits yes. There are several legit telerad companies that provide prelimnary reads from overseas using US boarded radiologists. The ones I know of are in Israel, Switzerland and Australia. Unless you are on US soil while providing a service, you are not allowed to bill medicare for it. Given that medicare is the predominant payor in most practices, the market for overseas primary reads is very limited.

3) About how many hours per week does a Radiologist work?

57

(and as any statistic, this number is useless to predict your amount of work in the practice situation you choose)
