Can anyone explain who actually does the official read for echos and stuff the cardiologists use? Do they do it and then send to the radiologist or can they read it and bill for it thus eliminating the radiologist from the equation. Also, can neurologists do this with head CT, MR, etc??

Cardiologists read and bill their echoes.

Many neurologists will read and bill neurovascular ultrasound.

There are some neurologists who read and bill their own CT and MRI studies.
