My favorite are the old-fashioned doughnuts and apple fritters yum yum!
Anyway, I re-took by bio and chem at a CC (I took it 100 years ago at SIU-C), and am currently taking A&P at the CC. I also plan to take Physics, Orgo, Chem, and Micro at the CC as well.
I've been advised by the regular universities that I shouldn't take CC credits, but all the med schools are telling me it's fine.
For me, it's a question of cost. It seems the advisors I've spoken with don't get the concept of being a non-trad. Meaning we have spouses, mortgages, car loans, etc. and then we have to add tuition on top of it ?!
I think med schools are realizing that the life experience (especially if it's health or medical-related) we bring to the table outweighs some other factors that traditional students come in with. I mean, come on! I did the college thing, went to grad school, traveled to Europe, lived in New Zealand, shadowed doctors, ride a motorcycle, play piano, work as a health professional, published papers, etc., etc. and I'm sure your resume has great stuff, too, as all of ours does. What do they want you to do - cure cancer?
Mush - do well on your next MCAT and do well in classes from here on out, no matter where you take them, and you will do fine. Keep your head in the game and block out the hecklers.
