no limit texas hold'em is addictive as hell! do any of you guys play? that website is cool b/c its free and you play real people from all over the world. i just started recently, its a nice way to clear your mind... kind of like SDN but without the trolls. :laugh: playing against real people and tricking them into thinking your bluffing is sooooooo cool. :meanie: obviously you dont have to worry about your poker face but you can really mislead people with your betting if you do it right.

I've only played poker once. My car had died on the highway in rural AL about halfway between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham. I was picked up by a trucker, and he took me to the next exit, which was a truck stop, so that I could call a tow truck While I was there waiting to be towed, one of the other truckers taught me how to play. He asked if I wanted to play strip poker, which I thought was funny, and which my ex, who was with me, did not think was funny. 😛 Good times. 😎

Thanks for all of the avatar compliments. I like it too. I wasn't planning to make a new avatar, but A-man ruined my other one. :meanie:

Hi y'all. This has not been a good morning. Hubby and I left to go get breakfast and run a couple of errands before the movers get here at 1pm and we had just pulled out of a parking lot not 3 miles from our house...a cup of Diet Coke spilled and hubby and went diving for it (against everything I have ever said specifically regarding the subject) and hubby lost control of the car. I looked up and saw a telepone/utility pole and screamed...then closing my eyes. He tried to correct, but it was no use...we jumped the curb, went through a light pole and then hit the utility pole. The airbags deployed. I have never experienced that before. They took me to the hospital by ambulance, but only because I was feeling tightness and a bit of aching immediately afterward and I have had previous back and neck injuries.

It was bad. Thankfully, a police officer was sitting in the same parking lot eating his breakfast and so help arrived quickly. Moving day goes on. I am so grateful to be alive. I had no idea how bad it was until I got out of the car. I just sat there and thanked God for airbags.

Oh my. It was quite a morning and I am so grateful for all in my life...good and bad.

The exhaustion has really caught up with hubby and we agreed that it played a role in the crash. Hopefully, with that he will agree to take next week off.

I hope you all are well. 😍

phys exam was better than expected. i cant sleep though slept for 3 hrs in the past 2 days too hyped on coffee though

ha, guess what? just about every 2nd year medical student in the US is going to be taking their usmle within the next couple of weeks and kaplans usmle qbank has been down all day! 😱 everyone is ripping kaplan a new one in the usmle forum for it right now. seriously, with the money they make off that program to have it crash in late may with no backup system is just unacceptable. 👎

goin to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH on monday--best amusement park eevvverr--has my fave ride Top Thrill Dragster (tallest/fastest coaster in the world--you go straight up and straight down at like 120 mph--it's the beautiful yellow one in this pic)

That looks like so much fun Nikki!! I'm very jealous. I haven't been to an amusement park since my honeymoon at WDW.

I have a boring weekend. My husband is working all day tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday. I don't even get to spend time with him (and get relief from the kids - the most important thing) tonight. He has a friend over helping him in the garage with his computer.

The baby is sick again too. I wish I knew how that happened. We haven't left the house in almost two weeks because one or both of them has been sick this whole time. Somehow she has another fever. 😕

Edit: Sorry to hear that the kids keep getting sick. Do they go to daycare? I think daycare is some kind of breeding ground for viruses or something.

Nope, the kids don't go to daycare. They stay home and drive me nuts all day. 😉 That's why I'm confused about how the baby is even sick again. We haven't gone anywhere for them to be exposed to anything. My two year old is just now feeling better from her cold/ear infection and now the baby is sick again - and she's who got the two year old sick. Bizarre ....

Hi all. Thanks for all the good wishes. Hubby went to the impound lot to collect all of our personal belongings from the car. The insurance company said that we probably wouldn't see the car again. He said that my side was pretty bad. Definitely the worse of the two. I asked him what the car looked like on a scale of 1-10. (I was in such shock that I never even looked at the car on scene!) 10 being a car that had been in a wreck and burned leaving only the skeleton. He said ours was about a 6. That kind of freaked me out.

I am feeling a lot worse than I was this morning since I really didn't take it easy and we JUST arrived at the new house. It was crazy. I also had to make a mad dash to LensCrafters to get a new pair of glasses since mine were destroyed in the accident. They ended up fixing mine for free (a new lense and everything!) and I bought an additional pair. I asked if my glasses were still under some sort of warranty since he hadn't charged me...he said "No, but you've had a bad enough day already." I thought that was so nice.

I was so hacked with the movers...the head guy (who brought the truck) ended up showing up 5 HOURS after our originally scheduled time. That wasn't the worst part...he actually tried to blame Bush because they had stopped traffic on the Beltway for 30 minutes due to his movement. WTF? I wanted to start screaming AND THE OTHER 4 1/2 HOURS??? We are planning on sleeping late tomorrow since the movers won't be here until the afternoon...we'll see how my beat up body likes the airbed...ugh.

Oxeye, I am so sorry that your daughter is sick again! That stinks!

Beary, are you diggin' the new pad?

I will chat with you all tomorrow. I just had to check in...my sanity for the day.

both said to me within the past month. the 2nd one was pretty much the first post in a thread that was started in the allo forum in response to a thread i closed which was started by someone who was talking to themselves with different usernames. i love how when i explained why the first thread had been closed the guy never bothered to apologize or anything for calling me out in the first post of the new thread and saying all those things.

i'm just getting you use to the stuff you'll hear as a mod. :laugh:

i dont know s&m, i think lil may be right on that one. if its true then thats crazy. i can understand taking one mcat practice test but according to that thread the kid has taken several already and seen improvements in his scores. um... ok.

Considering that I'm rapidly reaching the point where I could have a high school aged child, I'll just turn that whippersnapper over my knee, and tell him to respect his elders, that's all. 😛

It's not a bad analogy, actually. It *is* our job to watch for trouble, and to break it up if there is any. So far people have been reasonably civilized, and as long as that continues, I'll leave it alone. I've just seen other HS threads turn nasty, and I won't tolerate that in MY forum. 😛 Incidentally, a-man, I have a question for you. Can you see IPs in the subforum? Because I can't, just in here. Should I tell Lee?

yea, it's quite possible that it's a troll. i'm quite gullible, though, so i usually believe things like that at first. 🙂

yeah, if you cant see IP's in the subforum then thats a glitch and you should tell lee. since you're a mod there you should be able to see them. he probably just hasnt updated the permissions for you in that forum since you became a mod and stopped being an advisor.
