Whoo hoo Beary! It's now official - you can be my doctor anytime!! I guess for you that means you can look at the funky stuff my dermatologist scrapes off my back anytime!!

BTW, I like simply beary, I don't think she needs a nickname! But we could call her Teddie!

Oxeye can be Mama! How about that for a nickname? One you're used to I would think.

BTW, when can I expect a new cute baby avatar!? Those make my day!
Megboo is so cute anyway i don't think I could think of anything else but how about:
The Super Cool Ghost Debunker
or
The Prez of Jimmy Buffet-aholic Anonymous

Yeah we have a spanish version of it at the clinic where I volunteer and I read it to the kids there as part of a program called reach out and read. Its awesomely fun when I go there, but I was toooooo exhausted after stressful week with finals to think about going today so I took it easy and chilled around here.
I love my clinic too! I worked my fall semester around when the clinic would be open so I could spend more time there. Right now I'm taking a break from data entry.

This morning we were testing the glucometer calibration and I got stuck 3 (!!!) times! I think the medical director is a vampire :scared:

Yeah, yeah, I'm such a baby. I know

On a side note, I was studying MCAT stuff and came back because I have the biggest cramps in my legs. I hate having my time of the month. Waaaah waaaa waaaaaa

Tonight's going to be fun. My friend's graduating from USF undergrad at her Honor's graduation ceremony. Then we are all going to dinner, (me, her, and some of our mutual friends) and then to Clearwater Beach!!!!!!!! I'm excited. 😀

Now if only these cramps would go away.

LOL, mama works. The baby just started babbling "mamamamamamama" a few days ago too.

I'll try to get a new pic of her today for you Ant (is that the nickname we picked for you? I can't remember).

So I bit the bullet and decided that it is time to *really* start potty-training the 2.5 year old. I put it off while I was studying for the MCAT. She's had one accident and no successful potty attempts but she did seem a little upset with her accident. That's progress at least. At least there haven't been any tantrums yet! Raising a two-year old is seriously the most stressful thing I've done.

Raising a child is serioiusly the hardest job or career in life!!!!! It only going to get worse when they are older because you'll always be worried about them and won't always be able to keep an eye on them.

Haha - both baby babies were that color for a month or so after they were born. ;-)

Here's a pic to prove it -

This is my 2.5 year old at 7 days old. The cord coming out of the blanket is from the biliblanket.

oxeye your girls are precious. If you aren't doing this already, giving your daughter a little reward (like some stickers or something) after she goes potty will probably really help.

Oh my gosh, if I can get her to actually go in the potty I'll give her a whole party! I think it will smooth sailing after I get her to go in it a few times and she realizes it is a good thing to do. She just hasn't done it yet.

This morning she had three accidents. She's napping in a pull-up now so at least if she does go in her sleep I my won't have to change the sheets. I'm determined to have her diaper-less for a few days and hopefully she'll get it.

I was talking to my sister earlier about it and neither of us could figure out why it is such a hard concept for her to grasp. Dogs and cats are so easy to train to go in one spot and I know she's smarter than dogs and cats!

Get her on a "potty" schedule - take her every 1.5-2 hours even if she doesn't have to go. She'll get in the routine and go herself eventually.

My friend has a child with ADHD (Justified diagnosis, even at 3 years old!) and they sent him to "potty boot camp" on a Saturday and it worked!

WTG graduates!!!!

I'm happy that I don't have work on Monday and my final for A&P on Tuesday. Unfortunately, Summer A&P starts week after next. 🙁

I can't believe there are actually people complaining about MCAT adding more test dates. I swear, some people live to b*tch.

I'm sorry, but how is it that Patrick Kennedy can drive under the influence of medication, be completely out of it, forget the whole thing, and get in an accident, and say it was from flu medicine?

The cops should have arrested him. What if he hurt someone?

Stupid politicians.

yeah--when my sister was first being potty trained, my mom would just leave her on the potty and let her drink water until she went. Then just kept taking her constantly--about every hour to avoid accidents in between. The schedule just needs to be consistant at the beginning and give her TONS of praise when she does it. Also--if you find later that she still has accidents at night, you might try waking her up really early (about 4 AM or even earlier) to take her potty and then put her back to bed. Then take her as soon as she wakes up in the morning. It took my sister a little while to catch on--some kids learn much quicker than others. good luck--i know it's going to take a lot of patience :luck:

I honestly cannot understand what is wrong with having a shorter mcat, being able to take it anytime of the year and be able to retake it quickly, and getting your scores more quickly. what is wrong with any of that--please enlighten me.

So how exactly does potty boot camp work? I wish I could hire someone to do this for me.

I do try to remind her to use the potty pretty often. The problem with her is that she is soooooo strong-willed. She won't let me take her to the potty - if it's my idea, then by definition she doesn't want to do it. Nice, huh? She's like a 2 year old teenager in that respect, 😉 Really the most I can do is talk about it a lot. If I do more and try to force it at all it turns into a complete tantrum - and then she's just hysterical and nothing gets through to her.

It's just great fun. 🙄 I remember when my little sister was potty-training, we would have her sit on the potty and just give her lots and lots of water until she went - and then lots of praise. It was so easy with her, but she wasn't completely stubborn at that age.

Congratulations graduates and best of luck in all your future endeavours. I love cilia as well, btw imo lysosomes are the best. Have a good night all I'm off to cram hist, bloody pre-reqs how is hist going to help me next yr( assuming i do get into med school)? I have alot of chem and phys to do as well. Take care everyone.

Seriously! If I have to retake, I think I'll just delay my application a year and take the test in January. There's no way I want to go through an all day test again.

I don't have kids, but I work with birth-three year olds as a speech therapist. Most are going through potty-training issues, so I've come across things by default.

so who's gonna get obliterated with me now?

Me!!! Help me choose what to drink. (I don't like beer so that's not on the list).

Vodka (Smirnoff or Grey Goose)
Southern Comfort
Peppermint Schnapp's
Champagne
Various wines
Zima
Smirnoff Ice

Available mixers: chocolate margarita, green apple margarita, ginger ale, grape soda, coke, sprite

Thank you for your assistance with this difficult decision. 😀
