And I'm sad that in the Mafia thread that I was sold out and now they are discounting information that I had previously. I play citizen first THEN mob boss. 🙁 I had the goods but alas they won't be used. Stupid mistakes. This is the 2nd game in like a week or two that's been messed up. I think I'm taking a break because it rules my life.

Good morning all. Beary, you went to McGill? How cool is that?

I was in college during the OJ trial.

I was in college during the OKC bombing.

I am starting to feel really old, mainly because I know that I am older than every regular in here...except MM...she has me by a year. 🙂 Thank goodness. 😀

Let's see if I can recap what I remember...

-there is some cactus diet thingy called hoopia or something like that...
-we talked about where everyone was on 9/11...
-it was determined that MM is the oldest and she requested that the younguns respect their elders....
-Mushy is reading about lupus for school
-Beary is unemployed and thrilled with it
-Nikki fell to the pressure and created a MySpace page (I think)
-Megboo said she never will
-Q is totally turned off by GA, but her world is rocked by NUMBERS
-A-man has a new MySpace page
-Oxeye has a new adorable avatar

That is about all I can recall... hope it helps. 😛

Except for not worrying about my time in practice, I wouldn't go back to 21 to save my life. A bunch of crappy things happened in my 20s.

i was at college in boston (probably only 5 or so days into freshman year) when 9/11 happened. someone told me what happened as i was walking around campus and i thought it must be a joke or prank or something.

mushy, my BF worked for the lupus foundation in pittsburgh. lupus is such an odd and rare disease, isn't it??

we salute MM, our eldest of elders 🙂

exactly it really is. I like diseases like the this so intriguing and NO ONE knows anything about how it truly works.

The movers are here packing things...they have changed the move day to next Friday instead of Saturday. Oh well. I'm ok with that. They asked nicely. Besides, if they are packing...who cares?

I stink...I have been outside in the garage throwing things out that I don't want packed.

Now, I am sneezing like a freak! Beautiful day though. 🙂

How long did the process take? I'm just starting to get serious about publishing a part of my honor's thesis.

hahaha, thanks all! 😀

the process took for a while. i did the work over 3 summers...well 2 and a half really b/c i spent half of the 3rd summer writing the paper. i wrote most of it, and my boss helped with the discussion section b/c he's really much more in the loop with all the current literature. we submitted it to 3 journals (first journal of biological chemistry, then biochemistry, and then biochemical journal twice). the first 3 it got rejected with one good review and one bad. but the last bad review wasn't really accurate...they didn't read the paper very well because most of their comments were already addressed. so we fixed it up again and voila! 🙂 (But all in all it took since september of 2004).
