The irony amuses me as well.

My experience with doctors is very different.....

If they are academic physicians or the ones that I was a patient of, they've generally been nice. If they are the indian ones who live in my hometown, they are generally snobby people who want nothing more then a lust for money.

Not all of them, but a lot of them are that way.

Hi girls, Brett, and A-man if you're reading this. The thought has occurred to me that this is probably the only sane thread in this entire forum. :meanie: Hope you are all having a great day. I'm doing nothing all day and then going to dinner with an old friend.

Scentimint, I'm not happy about Betty being subbed for the peppermint patties. 👎

A-man, I got your back. Luck to you!

beary, my mom and I go way back with these MCAT score report things. Ten years ago when I took the test the first time, we had a HUGE fight because the AAMC mailed my score report to her house and she opened it without me. 😛 She was threatening to do it again the second time, and I told her that if she did, I wasn't going to tell her my score when I saw it on-line a few weeks beforehand. :meanie: (She didn't know they started doing on-line score reports.) So we agreed that I'd check and I'd have her on the phone while I did it. And that was what we did.

Thanks for explaining werewolf/vampire to me. I think I'm too lazy to play, but hope you all have fun. 🙂
Did your mom believe you when you told her about the score? 🙂

I've only had experience with one Indian doctor and though he fit the stereotype you describe I didn't realize it was an Indian thing. I just thought certain doctors were like that. I love my FP - he's great, takes the time to listen, really makes you feel like he cares. I really want to be a doc like that. For me, I'm just fairly certain this is viral so a trip to the doctor is just a waste of time. Now that I think I have an ear infection though, I do want to go. I had a ton of problems with that when I was little and I want it checked out.

My stupid internet is down. Luckily I have been able to steal a neighbor's wireless connection with my laptop, keeping me from totally going into convulsions. They are going to send out a technician tomorrow between 10 and 3. 🙄

go go! steal that internet! 😀
i hope they come and fix your soon, though. i know how much that sucks to have your internet down!

I have phone over the internet too, so my phone is down as well! 😡

That thread about shooting for 15s on the MCAT is hilarious.

  I know. I couldn't even respond to that thread b/c i would just get all riled (sp?) up. Q gave a good explanation though, I think.

Whoo hoo - ear infection!!! Yeah!!! Guess it's antibiotics and asprin for me all weekend. 😛

(BTW, I still stand behind the fact that going to the doc was useless. Before he suggested his plan I said, "Let me guess Erythromicin 250 4xs a day for 10 days?" And he was like, "Now that's just creepy.")

Well, I'm done posting in it. I can't make my point any clearer than I have, and if people don't want to take my advice (coming from someone who did score two 14s and a 15, and who did get accepted to med school already), hey, it's their funeral. Now I'm just going to watch the thread to make sure it stays nice. 🙂

good call on that one. i don't think people realize the odds/statistics that come into play when you're dealing with the 13-15 scoring range

she guessed lower! lmao  i love mommies
Oh yeah, she did. She guessed 40 and then 37. 😛 I was teasing her about that later, and she said she just didn't want me to feel bad if I hadn't gotten the 40.

When are you guys supposed to get your scores? Any word from the AAMC yet on a date? Should be this week or next week, right?

i've heard different things from people on the official countdown thread (a few said june 7, june 15), but who knows if anyone has actually called them and/or is telling the truth. personally, i haven't heard anything directly from the source, though.

Yeah - I think people are alternating between this coming week and the week after. There's a pool going on the countdown thread.

Hey Q - remember that personal thing I PMed you about - I figured out how to mention it - care to look over what I've written?

omg hey scentiment--remember when they released the scores last august--that was so whack. They kept teasing us by changing the message and then released them in waves. I was sitting there madly refreshing the page like a crazy person.

Aww, I hope you feel better soon. My daughter just got over an ear infection and it made her pretty crabby.

They released in waves?? So some people knew their score and some didn't???

That's evil!!!!!!

yea, that was torture. i wonder if they'll do that again?!?

I think I wrote a pretty good version of that stupid diversity essay. It's just about the right length.

I also read my PS over the phone to my sister today. She started crying, I can't figure out if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

The April 2006 MCAT scores will be available online sometime tonight whenever we feel like pulling them out of our asses. Don't bother checking before then....yo momma!
Yo momma is like the ThX system: she can put out to over 10,000 people in around a minute.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - booya.

Man - I was trying to give your mom the benefit of the doubt... or were you talking about A-man's mom? (that's mean - he's not here to defend himself.)

yeah right--like he can stay off of here. I bet you $1.50 he can't go 2 weeks without posting.

We can play "I never" - everyone starts out with 10 pts. I'll go first then oxeye then nikki... each post starts out with your current score and something you've never done. For everything someone says they've never done but you have you need to subtract a point.

Want to play?

So my daughter went in her big girl bed for her nap for the first time today. She went in her bed fine with our normal routine. Then 5 minutes later I heard her bedroom door open. I went upstairs and she was in the hallway. When she saw me she said "Good morning mommy!"

And then there was the tantrum when I put her baxk in bed and told her she had to sleep......

45 minutes later she was sleeping. :meanie:
