Anybody ever been to a Quaker Steak and Lube?

I totally want to go there. We don't have any in Michigan. (I have never been, but my folks told me about it, plus I 😍 auto racing).

yeah beary that place totally rocks--we usually go to the one in Sharon, PA but they are building one closer to us now

dude my internet is so slow i'm having a hard time getting the chat to even come up let alone the sign up

how new is this freeroll thing, I don't remember it?

the last time I played in pokeroom was last summer, I bought in $20 and worked my way up to $500 over about a month in smaller blind rooms, decided I was awesome and went into a $10-$20 NL HE game and lost it all in about 10 hands.....

The 12 $100 freerolls started this week.
They have all sorts of games.
I caught some bad luck and went out 72/1600 in my 7S Hi Lo

Has anyone ever read anything by Sondra Ely Wheeler? She is a bioethicist and theologian. My hubby had her as a prof in seminary and I would go with him to class 'cause she was so awesome. I have attempted to read a book or 2 of hers, but DAYUM... that is a tough read! Maybe I will go for it again. She is such a cool person....and always writes hubby's LORs for whatever he is doing.

Good thought. Don't think it is possible since she doesn't know me worth #%$^ but you're right...that would look hot! It hasn't hurt him...everything he has wanted...he has gotten. But, I guess Magna Cum Laude doesn't hurt either with an ugrad from UVa. Isn't it great when UVa is your fallback state school? Sheesh. No one has heard of my state school. 😳

I did. I didn't want to take it but it ended up being one of my most useful classes since med and grad school require so many presentations.

UVA is a really great school, where did you go to school, in Virginia also?

I'm glad it was useful for you....that gives me hope, because up until this point I thought it was pretty worthless.

I was asking because my teacher told us that many west coast universities do not require it, while most east coast schools do.

My final semester consisted of research, 86 page paper, and 315+ hours of filming/editing. I got an A. You can do it.

Funny, after I was finished I swore I would never go back to school. :laugh:

We got a TON of rain last night that just was sheets and sheets of rain. A few people a few miles away didn't get squat. It rained for a straight HOUR of pouring. HOUR! While a few miles south east of us there was nothing. So weird.

See, my semester (1st summer term) right now consists of nothing, nothing, nothing, and nothing besides speech comm , a simple psy class, and and volunteering :laugh:

My brutal semester was this past spring.......and right now I am finding it soooooooooo hard to be motivated to do anything for these two simple classes :laugh:

Y'all, I have no idea what the heck is up with me. I just fell down the stairs. Not my fault. The chow puked there. I didn't see it. Slip....bam...ouch...ouch...bang. I think I hit my head, but I am still alive so that's a good sign. Why does this dog have to have such a delicate stomach? She puked up the WATER she had just consumed. Darn chow. And on the stairs? Doesn't she know that water on wood creates a hazardous situation? I already have bruises coming out. Dang. The bruises from the car wreck just went away! WTF? I swear, someone is going to say something about domestic abuse..I just know it. And...to tell the trusth will sound just like an excuse. I mean, I do actually walk into doors and walls and bang my hands on grocery store shelves. Seriously, I don't mean to minimize domestic violence, but that is what it easily looks like from the outside. 😳

Btw, I wouldn't leave off the cap. I've never had one that actually kept my hair dry, but it seems to reduce the chlorine damage.

yea i know... chlorine = dead hair

but i did put conditioner in my hair before i swam... so maybe that helped.

So we just had a patient come in basically having a heart attack and it made me really upset. EMS came and everything. I feel like a wuss crying over something like that. You guys that are in med school/residency, do you ever get over that?

GRE's not too bad. I got EXACTLY the same score as I got on my SATs in high school. :laugh: I would probably have a hard time with the math now since I can't add single digit numbers without a calculator anymore.
